Written by The North Novie of the Week is Cpl. Earl H Jewers of Liscombe Mills, Nova Scotia!
He was an original North Nova Scotia Highlander who went overseas in 1941, and served as a radioman/signalman. Cpl. Jewers was a D-Day veteran. Cpl. Jewers was also awarded the French Legion of Honour Medal in 2015. He is remembered for his brave heart and humble ways. He died in February of 2019 at the age of 97. We thank him for his service.
