Amherst Armoury
After debates amongst citizens, the town council, and Ottawa, construction of the Amherst Armoury finally in 1912. Crews finished construction on the Armoury in late 1914, and the building was put to immediate use.
Nova Scotia Highlanders Battle Flag
This Nova Scotia flag has an amazing story to tell. It was presented to the North Nova Scotia Highlanders during a ceremony in Amherst, NS on 30 July 1940 by Provincial Premier, the Hon. A.S. MacMillan.

100 Years Later…
On July 2nd, 2019, 800+ people gathered to commemorate the 100th year anniversary of the closing of the Amherst Internment/Prisoner of War Camp.
